About

My name is S Rabi Kiran (you will also find me as Ravi Kiran on some sites as that is how I like to be called). I have been working as a software developer since 2009.

I am well versed with several technologies including .NET, C#, ASP.NET, WCF, WPF, JavaScript, HTML, AngularJS, Node.js and jQuery. As the title of this blog reads, I pen down my thoughts on technology here. The topics I write here contain one of the topics I mentioned here or they may also be based on some abstract thoughts that I get on software development. If you are following this blog or have already read a few of my blogs, you may have understood that I like clean code and practices like Unit Testing and TDD. I love these practices as they teach me something new on every occasion.

In addition to this blog, I write for the following sites:

  • DotNetCurry: DotNetCurry is a site that is committed to .NET community and brings in high quality content on Microsoft and Web technologies. It also releases a magazine on every alternate month containing a lot of articles covering latest technical topics. Several Microsoft MVPs and industry experts contribute these articles to the site.
  • Sitepoint: Sitepoint is one of the leading technical sites on the internet. They publish articles based on front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, design, a few of the server platforms like PHP and Ruby, Microsoft technologies and Mobile development. They also publish several books and video courses on Learnable. I am a SitePoint ambassador as well.

I am also involved with user groups like ngHyderabad as an organizer and speaker and with Google Developer Group, Hyderabad as a speaker.

Recognitions:
My online activities have gained a number of mentions including several spotlights on the official ASP.NET site, ng-newsletter, JavaScript weekly and a few more sites.
DZone recognizes me as a Most Valuable Blogger.

The biggest recognition that I received till date is an MVP Award from Microsoft in the area of Visual Studio and Development Technologies for my contributions to the community around the technology during 2014-15.
